Learning Resource for Week Of: March 29th
Message from Teacher Christina:
Creating healthy dental habits is so important for young children. Visit the link below for tips for good dental hygiene.
Movement / Play
Read “let’s pretend dentist” together. After reading, have your child choose what role they would like to pretend and what they will do. Have them draw a picture of themselves in that role and what they will be playing. For example, the dentist and using the tools to clean teeth. Support them to write what they will play today.

Language / Literacy
Read ABC dentist: A colorful alphabet book with medical vocabulary, starting with A for Appointment and B for Bandage, and ending with Z for…a Zillion times better!
Doctors Help by Dee Ready Learn about the special tools doctors use as they help patients with different needs.
Math / Science
I Spy Classification: First model for your child by saying “ I spy something that is round and flat” (clock) or “I spy something that has 4 legs that is smaller than a car” (dog). This activity helps your child figure out how to recognize an object’s attributes and sort objects into groups with similar attributes. Being able to group by number, shape, or measurement helps develop your child’s mathematical thinking. Grouping by color, texture, or hardness will introduce your child to scientific classification.
Sorting: Invite your child to help you with some household tasks that involve sorting. For example, he could help you organize clean laundry, put away dishes, or straighten toys. As you sort, continue to talk through the process with your child. For example, “all the round plates go here” or “put the white socks together in this drawer”. Use attributes like length, color, and texture to explain why things get put together.
Movement / Play
“Got My Toothpaste, Got My Brush” (Change the Lyrics to “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”)
Got my toothpaste, got my brush,
I won’t hurry, I won’t rush.
Making sure my teeth are clean,
Front and back and in between.
When I brush for quite a while,
I will have a happy smile
